What a wonderful year and what a ride!! We were so lucky to have been a part of many awesome events this year and boy did we adopt some monsters. We made mushrooms galore and collected a bunch of our own items from fellow artisans.

We're planning on holding many more raffles in the upcoming new year and soon the website will be ready to rock and roll. I've learned to manage my time better and be more adventurous with glazing. Can't wait to show you some of the new things coming soon.

Its a glaze day!

We're getting closer to #sacanimewinter2026 and we're looking forward to bringing all you wonderful people some oldies and a whole new bunch of new stuff. Its been a heck of a year and I've learned many things along the way, including how to manage my time better between new creativity and production work. I'm also slowly getting over whatever has been going around lately, so at least I can work in the studio without affecting anyone else.

New stuff that is had brought with me to Calaveras Celtic Faire and let me tell you I'm in love with the planter pots this go around. Some of these guys still need to be adopted to a good home. Seeing as we're traveling down to Irwindale in a few weeks we should be able to find loving homes for these monsters.

So I got this fantastic mug from @cubbypotamus , it's even more glorious looking holding it in my hands. He showed me pictures of it before the trade and it is a really well made piece. I'm not very fond of throwing with porcelain myself but I definitely respect those with a talent for making it look classy.

You should go and check out his stuff, it's very reminiscent of classic Japanese drinking ware with his own twist. I'm a big fan because I collect japanese/Chinese tea ware. This piece makes my morning Coffee that much better.

Getting ready for the first big show of the year, Sac Anime Winter. Spent much of the night glazing and carving pieces for the show. I've got some new colors for dragonscale mugs; the tests that came out last week were awesome.

Color test results for the cups. I really like how they came out but I also think it needs a little revision and more testing. They didn't come out quite how I wanted and I need to test different applications and thicknesses.

Once I finally get it correct, some of these should be a staple in our rotation.

Trying to add more variety to my glaze colors on the dragon scale set. I'm testing more than a few new colors to see what surprises it might bring. Fingers crossed this small test comes out how I want it too.

Working on batches of new stuff, including oil bottles abd bowls. I've got 1 more large event and 1 more small event for the year. The first one is the Historic Folsom Craft Faire in Folsom, CA put on by the people at @historicfolsom (Dec 8th, come by and say hello)

This is our second time here and I love the atmosphere, the people and all the wonderful craftsmen/women that show up and show out. It reminds me of when I used to travel to Germany and the winter celebrations they have all month long during Dec. It's a glorious mix of people with holiday spirit and fun times. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area.

Our second event is at the holiday market @mindscapefermentations put on by the wonderful ladies that run this amazing kombucha brewery. If you've wanted to try kombucha but haven't experienced amazing taste, this is the place for you. Being a sour and cider fan myself, everything here has great flavors and really brings out the best in kombucha. They also have great stouts and from what I've heard, amazing IPAs. (DEC 21st)

Other than thst ill be prepping long hours for Sac Anime Winter and Calaveras Celtic Faire. Next year is going to be a doozy and im working on some new things and new ideas for the coming year. I think many of us as artists tend to work in a more chaotic space; well at least I do. It's not that i don't want a more organized or clean space, it tends to get disorganized quickly during the throes of con season. I told myself that is get better about it for next year since I'm focused on 10x-ing where I'm going with the business.

Just loaded up on more clay and getting ready for a throw down for the next couple of months here. I actually love this new clay because it gives a nice cream glow on the unglazed, iron oxide parts of the clay body. It was a bit of a pain getting used to throwing with because it's slightly more plastic than my normal stoneware. It's like a mix between stoneware and porcelain, which is nice because it also shows underglaze very well.

I also got some dragonfruit to see if I can fit it into my product offering line of ceramics; as well as night sky which looks awesome, but I'll need to test them out.

Other than that it's been a great latter half of the year in clay.

Prepping my monsters for the upcoming Ren faire in folsom. Will I see you guys there? I know my little creatures are excited to see the fantastic crowds and nobles that line the streets during the queens visit.

I've been revisiting some older techniques and wanted to give some of my old monsters a chance to rekindle a newer, younger generation. Everyone of them is still unique but it's kind of like a small rebirthing of an older generation of creatures when I was first starting out creating these guys.

We've also got a few new item types and styles that we're bringing out to give much more varied experience. While I enjoy my monsters, in many cases they aren't exactly portable. So we've created portable little buddies that can carry dice, trinkets, and since they'll be food safe; even your favorite drink or much needed water during the hot months.

OK, so I recently had to put together an order for one of our customers and I needed to pull a few more things from the shelf to finish up. Places where joy and smiles bring everyone together over good food and drink. When we first found this place in our backyard, me and the wife knew it was going to be our go to place.

If you know these lovely ladies, stop by and chat with them. Weird fact about the owners, they're all Aquarius signs like me, so it's only natural I'm drawn to a magical place like this. They also make just about everything here themselves, or work hand in hand with other locals to bring you their fantastic Gastropub bites and drinks. I also thought it perfect since many of their new beverages are made from ingredients that they forage for themselves; what better place for some mushrooms to thrive in than here.

One thing I like doing is highlighting small businesses in the area, so a few of these will be in places that I frequent quite a bit, so be on the lookout for clues tomorrow when game time starts. What I like about working with small businesses is that it helps bring the community together, much like how #gameofshrooms2024 #gameofshrooms_sac @gameofshroomsofficial and the love of mushrooms brings us together once a year.

Even though this is my first year and will not be the last year involved with the game, I'm been making mushroom themed stuff for a few years now. From plain mushrooms, super Mario themed mushrooms, all the way to mimic cups with mushroom growths; something about fungus is both magical and creepy, which is right up my alley.
